Education and Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
BLS tier 1 required
MN State Nurses License
Valid Drivers License required upon hire
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years inpatient experience in telemetry/cardiac step-down, ICU, Cardiac ICU or ED.
A strong understanding of cardiovascular disease, arrhythmias, cardiac medications and related diagnostic procedures.
Epic experience strongly preferred.

Job Summary:
Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse, the patient, and their family. As a leader and the integrator of care, this nurse coordinates plans of care across a multidisciplinary staff and serves as a subject matter expert in a particular clinical area. Tracks patient treatment and reports on progress to improve patient care and future outcomes. Develops and delivers in-service training to staff. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing, RN licensure, and experience in a specialized clinical area. Capable of working collaboratively within a team. Possesses strong oral and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, attentiveness and above average interpersonal skills.
Principle Responsibilities:
Nursing Assessment: Conduct assessments through interviewing, observation, and nursing procedures.
Problem Identification: Identify the impact of health problems on individuals and families, distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings to assess patient capabilities and limitations.
Planning: Collaborate with patients and relevant parties to make decisions and set mutually acceptable goals.
Implementation: Provide comprehensive nursing care
Evaluation: Continuously assess and reassess the patient’s progress toward achieving goals.
Clinical Competence: Demonstrate proficiency in using the nursing process to care for patients and their families.
Support: Offer emotional, intellectual, and psychological support to patients and their families.
Documentation: Accurately and completely document clinical practices and maintain records.
Communication: Share information appropriately with other members of the healthcare team.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient care.
Leadership: Lead and mentor new nursing staff, providing guidance and support.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Management of incoming calls and provider in-basket
- Resulting normal/stable results per MHVI in-basket management policy
- Document patient concerns and route them per protocol
- Triage line calls
- General cardiology referrals review
- Acute Myocardial Infarction readmission work
- Refills
- Manage incoming faxes
- Triage walk-ins
- Train new staff
- Procedure appeal letters
- Assisting in clinic based on staffing needs and chart prep
- Attend ongoing educational lectures
- Other tasks as assigned by Triage Nurse Clinician Lead
Pay Range:
Pay Range: $38 to $54.25 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and level of education.
