Job Status/Hours: 0.08-1.0 FTE
Salary Range: $120,000-$160,000

Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute (MHVI) is a major provider of cardiovascular care for the north/northwestern Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. We are currently seeking to add another physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join the electrophysiology (EP) service in a rapidly growing and vibrant practice.
Responsibilities:
- Perform consultations and hospital rounding for the inpatient EP service.
- Interpret EKGs, hospital telemetry, outpatient Holter monitors, and pacemaker/ICD electrograms for management of patients on the hospital service.
- Independently perform heart rhythm procedures like electrical cardioversions and implantable loop recorder implants /explants.
- Preoperative and postoperative management of patients who undergo elective and inpatient EP procedures, e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac ablations.
- Serve as resource to referring physicians, addressing concerns when a patient’s primary cardiologist is unavailable.
- See EP patients in the outpatient setting for peri-procedure follow-up and routine outpatient follow-up.
Requirements:
- Prior Electrophysiology or Cardiology experience is preferred but not required. For an excellent candidate who is motivated, wants to learn, works hard, willing to be trained, and has a desire to join a team of highly functioning and collaborative provider team, we will train you.
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license and certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a healthcare team.
- Conduct physical examinations and assessments of patients.
