Job Status/Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The device assistant supports the Device/Electrophysiology department by being readily available to respond to the needs of the device clinic staff and EP doctors.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Device Clinic and Remote duties:
- Manage device data for new implants, generator change-outs, and lead revisions
- Updates and maintains individual device data, including device/lead model and serial numbers and implant dates into the computer system, PaceArt
- Enrolls patients in remote home monitoring websites
- Able to schedule all appointments
- Schedules daily alerts from remote home monitoring sites into EPIC
- Helps remote staff with managing remote phones and any calls needed for those appointments
- Technically savvy in knowing all home monitors and available to trouble shoot with patient via clinic and/or phone
- Organize device schedule daily for Mercy, Unity, and Buffalo
- Order all literature, supplies, and home monitors for the device clinic
- Manages the disconnected monitors in all remote websites
- Manages the lost to follow-up patient list/device recalls
- Prepares folders for wound checks and prints/orders supplies for folders
- Responsible for returning/recycling old device monitors
- Manage device RightFax folder
- Cardiac Monitor Specialist backup
EMPLOYMENT SELECTION CRITERIA:
- High school diploma or GED
- Savvy with computers and electronic equipment
- Experience in a medical setting preferred, knowledgeable about medical terminology
- Must be detail oriented
- Excellian/EPIC experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Word)
- Comfortable working with physicians
