Primary location: MHVI – Mercy Hospital campus (Coon Rapids, MN)
Position Summary: This is a key clinical leadership position responsible for the day-to-day effective and efficient operation of the clinical support staff. This position reports to the Clinic Nurse Manager and collaborates with the management team to assure the designated clinics operate in accordance with MHVI’s mission and objectives.
Responsible for managing clinics, including function of LPN/MA team, Medication Prior Authorization Specialist and medical records staff. Will work closely with the medical provider staff to ensure the delivery of quality, cost effective health care in a safe and confidential environment.
Responsibilities:
- Direct leader of LPN/MA clinical staff, including employee performance management, and evaluation/timely feedback.
- Develop orientation plans for newly hired staff.
- Lead LPN/MA employee engagement initiatives.
- Participate in daily huddles to ensure nursing and clinical staff have the equipment, tools and resources required for safe patient care and to accomplish clinical objectives.
- Hire, manage, lead and engage staff to effectively drive performance to support patient care and clinical outcomes.
- Support clinic charge responsibilities, including scheduling of clinic staff when needed and passing patient complaints on to the Quality Manager.
- Maintain staff education and training, including tracking all clinic employee training records.
- Epic/Excellian technical clinical expert and support.
- Ability to travel to and provide onsite support at Unity (Fridley, MN) and Buffalo (Buffalo, MN) clinics on a regular basis.
- Responsible for clinic safety procedures, prevention, and follow-up
- Maintains nursing and clinical support staff guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Oversight of smart phrase committee, preceptor team and safety team.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Previous ambulatory clinical experience preferred.
- Excellian super user experience strongly recommended.
- Cardiovascular experience strongly desired.
- Leadership experience of 2 or more years preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal savvy, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detailed oriented with ability to see the “big picture”.
- Must possess ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and others throughout the organization.

- Ability to flex hours and travel to various sites.
